The Dragon Boys suffer a narrow defeat
Bangladesh started strong and took an early lead in the 5th minute through Shekh Morsalin making it 1-0. Bhutan responded with an equaliser by Orgen Wangchuk Tshering, but the goal was disallowed in the 11th minute of the game. Bhutan created a lot of chances but Despite Bhutan’s effort, Bangladesh held their 1-0 advantage at halftime.
In the second half, Bhutan started better and had a crucial moment in the 49th minute when Pema Dendup scored the goal. However, the goal was disallowed for being offside. Additionally, during the throw-in, Bishwanath Ghosh from Team Bangladesh received a yellow card for wasting time, intensifying the pressure in the match. In this back-and-forth match of the game Bangladesh however came out strong and won the match
In a closely contested match, Bangladesh defeated Bhutan 1-0. Bhutan struggled to make a breakthrough despite being under constant pressure and having a goal disallowed. Bangladesh’s perseverance and defensive stability eventually protected their narrow lead, allowing them to hang on for the victory. The encounter displayed both teams’ tenacity and skill, but Bangladesh’s early goal and tenacious defence sealed the victory in today’s match.
The next FIFA International Friendly match between Bhutan and Bangladesh will be played on 8th September 2024 at Changlimithang Stadium.
