The Bhutan Women’s National League, 2023, concluded after a six-month-long competition. This year’s tournament featured a format with three leagues, with the first two being played on a home-and-away basis, while the third took place at the centralized venue of Changlimithang National Stadium.
Emerging victorious in the competition was RTC WFC, securing the top position. Following closely were Gelephu Academy FC and Ugyen Academy, claiming the second and third spots, respectively.
Recognizing outstanding individual performances, Yeshi Choden of Gelephu Academy Girls was honoured as the Young Emerging Player of the Season. The Best Goalkeeper of the Season was awarded to Sangita Mongar from Ugyen Academy WFC.
In a notable shared achievement, the title of Highest Goal Scorer of the Season was claimed jointly by Deki Lhazom of Gelephu Academy Girls and Tshering Yangden of Ugyen Academy WFC. The Most Valuable Player of the Season accolade was bestowed upon Sonam Choden of RTC WFC.
The Bhutan Women’s National League, with its exciting matches and standout performances, showcased the talent and skill of women footballers in the country throughout the 2023 season. This year a total of 8 teams featured in the competition.
