All eyes will be on Changlimithang Stadium as Thimphu City FC, one of the early title contenders, takes on Samtse FC in a crucial encounter of the 2025 BoB Bhutan Premier League.

The Citizens are off to a flying start this season, having won all three of their opening fixtures in perfect fashion. Sitting second on the table with 9 points, they’ve scored six and conceded just once. Either a win or a draw could temporarily take them to the top, overtaking Paro FC.

In contrast, Samtse FC find themselves in the middle of the standings with 4 points from a win, a draw, and a loss. While their form has been mixed, they possess firepower and have shown in their last match that they could pose a serious threat to the Citizens.

One player who has lit up the league so far is Keuvin Brice, Samtse’s forward and current top scorer with four goals. His pace, positioning, and sharp finishing will be crucial if Samtse are to continue their winning form this season and a winless form against Thimphu City FC, a streak that has persisted over the years.

For the Citizens, Jetsuen Dorji has quietly emerged as a consistent attacking force, finding the back of the net in all three matches so far. Meanwhile, Dawa Tshering, Bhutan’s national team hero in the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers against Yemen, has already added two goals this season and will face his former club, Samtse FC, in what promises to be an emotionally charged return.
