Thimphu City FC Move Top After Convincing Win Over Tensung FC
Thimphu City FC delivered a dominant display to defeat Tensung FC 4–0 in the BoB Bhutan Premier League 2026, moving to the top of the table with a game in hand for their title rivals Paro FC.

The Citizens started the match on the front foot and broke the deadlock in the 17th minute through Sadick Sulley. Receiving a perfectly timed through ball from Jetsuen Dorji, Sadick unleashed a powerful left-footed strike into the far corner to give Thimphu City FC the early advantage.

Tensung FC were forced into an early change in the 29th minute when Thinley Wangdi was unable to continue due to injury, with Phub Dorji coming on as his replacement.
The visitors doubled their lead in the 36th minute through Dawa Tshering. A swift attacking move involving Sadick and Dawa saw Sadick’s initial effort saved by Yezer, but Dawa reacted quickly to finish the rebound and make it 2–0.

Thimphu City FC continued their attacking momentum after the restart and extended their lead through Sadick Sulley, who completed his brace. Jonathan delivered a dangerous free kick into the box, and Sadick rose unmarked to calmly head the ball into the net.

The Citizens made several changes during the second half, with Khushnudbek Bozorov replacing Jonathan Eduardo Cantillana Zorrilla, followed by Tshetrim Pelzang replacing Kinzang Tashi Tobden. In the 62nd minute, Bakhromjon Turgunpulatov and Karma Shedrub were introduced as Thimphu City FC looked to maintain their intensity.
Substitute Bakhromjon Turgunpulatov made an immediate impact, scoring the fourth goal of the match with a well-directed header from Orgyen’s perfectly delivered corner kick.
Reflecting on the first round, Tensung FC head coach admitted that he was not satisfied with the team’s performances and their current position. Meanwhile, Thimphu City FC head coach Mr. Rodolfo Zapata expressed his satisfaction with his players’ display, while acknowledging that the second round will bring tougher challenges as the title race intensifies.

The victory sees Thimphu City FC move to the top of the table and strengthen their title challenge, while Tensung FC remain in ninth place after another difficult outing.
