Thimphu City FC and Drukpa FC Share Spoils in Fiery Clash
A heated and action-packed encounter at Changlimithang Stadium ended in a 1-1 draw between Thimphu City FC and Drukpa FC, in a match filled with goals, bookings, substitutions, and late drama.

From the opening whistle, both teams showed high intensity, with challenges flying in as the referee was kept busy throughout the contest. Early cautions set the tone, as Phuntsho Jigme (4’) of Drukpa FC received the first yellow card, followed by Thierno Ndour (10’) for Thimphu City FC and Ugyen Dorji (16’) for Drukpa FC.
The deadlock was broken in the 35th minute when Leon Sullivan Taylor produced a clinical finish to give Drukpa FC a 1–0 lead. However, the celebrations were tempered shortly after when Taylor himself was booked in the 38th minute following a strong challenge.

Just when it seemed Drukpa FC would go into halftime ahead, Orgyen Wangchuk Tshering struck deep into stoppage time, making a well-timed run inside the box to collect a pass from Sadick Sulley before calmly finishing to bring Thimphu City FC level and ignite the home crowd.

The second half turned into a physical battle, with three yellow cards shown in the 59th minute alone—Sadick Sulley and Khushnudbek Bozorov for Thimphu City FC, and Phub Dorji for Drukpa FC. Both sides also turned to their benches, making several tactical substitutions in search of control and a potential winner.

Despite increased pressure from Thimphu City FC and several crucial 1v1 saves from Drukpa FC goalkeeper Sachin Ja, neither side could find the decisive breakthrough. Defensive organisation and midfield battles dominated the closing stages, keeping the scoreline level.
The match ended with further controversy as Jonathan Eduardo Cantillana Zorrilla of Thimphu City FC was shown a red card after the final whistle, while Drukpa FC manager Karma Namgyal also received a red card in the 78th minute, adding to a tense and emotionally charged evening.
In the end, both teams were forced to settle for a point after a fiercely contested 90 minutes.
