Chizoba’s Strike Seals Crucial Win for Thimphu FC Over Tensung FC
Thimphu FC secured a narrow but vital 1–0 victory over Tensung FC, with Chizoba Christopher Iyikwobe’s second-half goal proving to be the decisive moment of the match.

Tensung FC started brightly, while Thimphu FC enjoyed the better of possession and created multiple chances throughout the opening half. Despite their attacking pressure, the Thunder Bolts were repeatedly denied by an inspired Yezer Dorji, who produced a string of important saves to keep the game goalless at half-time. His performance ensured Tensung FC remained firmly in the contest going into the break, with Chencho and his teammates unable to find a breakthrough.

The deadlock was finally broken early in the second half. In the 50th minute, Chizoba Christopher Iyikwobe capitalised on an opportunity with a composed left-footed finish, calmly slotting the ball past Yezer and into the net to give Thimphu FC the lead.

After conceding, Tensung FC pushed forward in search of an equaliser, but Thimphu FC remained organised and disciplined defensively. Despite late pressure, the Thunder Bolts held firm and protected their advantage until the final whistle.

Chizoba’s strike ultimately proved to be the only goal of the match, securing all three points for Thimphu FC in a tightly contested encounter. While Tensung FC showed resilience and created moments of promise, they were unable to convert their chances, as Thimphu FC walked away with a hard-fought victory.
