Abayomi’s Poker Inspires the Grizzly Bears Victory
Captain Abayomi produced a sensational poker as Transport United FC came from behind to defeat BFF Academy 4–2 in an entertaining matchday 40 BoB Bhutan Premier League 2026 encounter at Changlimithang Stadium.

The match burst into life almost immediately as BFF Academy found the breakthrough inside the opening two minutes. Thinley Yezer gave the visitors a dream start, meeting the attack with a composed strike that nestled into the far-right corner beyond the reach of Tikhendra, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance and putting BFF Academy ahead 1–0.
Despite the early setback, Transport United FC gradually settled into the contest and found the equaliser in the 22nd minute through their captain. A costly mistake by BFF Academy skipper Rinzin Dorji, who was dispossessed while attempting to dribble past Bishal Tamang, gifted possession to Abayomi. Spotting the goalkeeper off his line, the striker unleashed a superb long-range effort that sailed beyond Tenzin Wangchuk to level the score.

Transport United continued to pile on the pressure and turned the game around before the break. Another midfield error from BFF Academy proved costly as Bikash won possession and threaded a perfectly weighted through ball into the path of Abayomi. The captain kept his composure and clinically finished to complete his brace and hand the Grizzly Bears a 2–1 lead.

The partnership between Bikash and Abayomi struck again moments later. Bikash once again carved open the BFF Academy defence with an incisive pass, allowing Abayomi to calmly slot home his third goal of the afternoon and complete a superb hat-trick, giving Transport United FC a commanding 3–1 advantage heading into the interval.

Looking to spark a comeback, BFF Academy made a change at half-time, introducing Tandin Penjor in place of Tenzin Wangchuk.
Transport United picked up where they left off after the restart and added a fourth goal through the unstoppable Abayomi. Ebo played a perfectly timed through ball into the striker’s path, and Abayomi’s blistering pace took him clear of the BFF Academy defence before he rifled a thunderous finish into the back of the net to make it 4–1.

BFF Academy continued to battle and were rewarded in the 74th minute. Rinzin Dorji redeemed himself by delivering an inviting set-piece into the penalty area, where Chhogyel Sherab rose highest to power a composed header beyond the goalkeeper and reduce the deficit to 4–2.

Although BFF Academy pushed for another goal in the closing stages, missing lots of chances, Transport United FC remained in control to see out the contest and secure a valuable three points.
The victory was built around an outstanding individual display from captain Abayomi, whose four-goal performance, combined with the creative influence of Bikash and Ebo, helped Transport United FC overturn an early deficit and claim an impressive 4–2 win at Changlimithang Stadium.
