Transport United Ladies Make Their Mark with Six-Goal Victory

Transport United Ladies put on a masterclass display in the BoB Women’s National League today, storming to a emphatic 6–0 victory over a spirited U20 Gelephu Girls Academy (GAG U20) side. Driven by a clinical attacking frontline and relentless pressure, Transport United established control early and never looked back.

Transport United set the tone from the opening whistle, taking just nine minutes to break the deadlock when Rashmi Kumari Ghishing found space to slot home the opener. The momentum stayed firmly with Transport, as Tashi Wangmo doubled the advantage in the 24th minute by reacting fastest to convert a rebound inside the box.

GAG U20 struggled to withstand the high press, and in the 32nd minute, Anita KC took full advantage of an open post to curl a precise finish from the right corner for 3–0. Just before the halftime whistle, Dipa Shahi put an exclamation mark on an outstanding opening half, unleashing a thunderous, long-range rocket straight into the net to send Transport United into the break with a 4–0 cushion.

Transport United picked up right where they left off after the restart. Meena Deuba got on the scoresheet early in the second half with a sharp finish to make it 5–0. Shortly after, Rashmi Kumari Ghishing sealed her brace in style, lofting a delicate chip over the GAG U20 goalkeeper to complete the 6–0 rout.

Despite the heavy scoreline, the standout performer for GAG U20 was goalkeeper Sonam Bumchu. Facing relentless waves of attack, Bumchu put in a heroic effort between the posts, pulling off double-digit saves throughout the 90 minutes and demonstrating remarkable grit to deny Transport United further extension of their lead.

Rashmi Kumari Ghishing was named Woman of the Match for her stellar, game-defining performance. Rashmi set the tempo early with her 9th-minute strike and finished off a memorable afternoon with a composure-filled second-half goal to anchor Transport United’s dominant victory.
