Drukpa FC and Thimphu City FC Share the Spoils in a Thrilling Encounter yet again

Drukpa FC and Thimphu City FC played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at Changlimithang Stadium, with both sides showing resilience in a match that produced four goals and plenty of drama. The Citizens started brightly and created several opportunities before finally breaking the deadlock in the 34th minute. Birthday boy Dawa Tshering delivered a perfectly weighted cross from the left flank, with Jonathan timing his run brilliantly to head the ball into the net and give Thimphu City FC the lead.

Drukpa FC came out stronger after the break and quickly found a way back into the contest. In the 58th minute, a scramble inside the box saw Fahad react quickest, sliding in to nod the ball home and restore parity.

The momentum then shifted in Drukpa FC’s favour. Fahad struck again, producing a superb left-footed effort after controlling the ball and turning onto his stronger foot. His powerful strike flew into the far corner beyond the reach of the goalkeeper, completing his brace and putting Drukpa FC 2-1 ahead.

Thimphu City FC refused to give up. In the 70th minute, Dawa Tshering and Jonathan combined once again. A well-weighted pass found Jonathan, who controlled the ball, shifted onto his stronger foot and fired a powerful effort into the far corner to make it 2-2.

Neither side could find a late winner as the points were shared after an engaging contest. For Drukpa FC, Fahad’s brace was a standout moment, while Jonathan’s two goals ensured the Citizens fought back twice to secure a valuable point.

With Matchweek 15 continuing, attention now turns to tomorrow’s clash at MTC Artificial Turf, where Tensung FC will face Tsirang FC. Tensung FC are coming off their second win of the season, while Tsirang FC will look to build on their biggest comeback of the campaign.
