Thimphu City FC Run Riot with Statement 7–1 Victory Over Ugyen Academy FC
Thimphu City FC delivered a ruthless attacking display at UA Artificial Turf, dismantling Ugyen Academy FC 7–1 in a match defined by clinical finishing, tactical sharpness, and relentless forward pressure.

The game exploded into life almost immediately, with Ugyen Academy FC striking the fastest goal of the season inside the opening 30 seconds. Ngawang Sonam gave the home side a dream start, finishing smartly with the outside of his foot after combining well with Chimi Dorji.

However, that early shock only seemed to ignite Thimphu City FC into action. Slowly but surely, the Citizens began to take control of possession, territory, and tempo. Their equaliser arrived in the 28th minute from a set-piece routine, as Jonathan delivered a pinpoint corner and Bakhromjon rose highest to head home and restore parity.

From that moment onward, the momentum swung completely. Thimphu City FC took the lead through Sadick Sulley, who timed his run perfectly to break the offside trap after a defence-splitting pass from Bakhromjon. Despite a fingertip touch from goalkeeper Locho, Sadick’s composed finish made it 2–1.

Bakhromjon then took centre stage, continuing his dominant performance in front of goal. Another header from open play, this time from a captain’s cross, doubled his tally and extended Thimphu City’s advantage to 3–1.

The striker was not done yet. Completing a brilliant hat-trick, Bakhromjon latched onto a perfectly weighted pass from Sadick, broke the defensive line once again, and finished emphatically with a low strike to make it 4–1.

The second half brought more misery for Ugyen Academy FC. Substitute Kinley Penjor made an immediate impact, sprinting down the left flank before unleashing a powerful finish to stretch the lead to 5–1.
Thimphu City FC were awarded a penalty shortly after, when Sadick Sulley was brought down inside the box by Hishey Tshophel Dendup. Sadick stepped up confidently and converted, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to register his second goal of the match and extend the scoreline to 6–1.

The rout was completed late in the game when Kinzang Tashi Tobden reacted quickest to a goalmouth scramble following a corner from Jonathan, tapping home from close range to seal a 7–1 victory.

Despite Ugyen Academy FC’s explosive start, Thimphu City FC’s tactical discipline, attacking efficiency, and set-piece threat proved too much to handle. The Citizens leave with a commanding win that sends a strong message to rest of the title contenders as they now climb on the top of the table.
