Guess What Suku is Cooking- An Off-Season Series

Suk Maya Ghalley, known to most as Suku, grew up in Bhur Geog. Although her current residence is registered under Samtenling, she still proudly considers the place by its original name, Bhurzaland. As the youngest in her family, Suku jokes that this makes her the “youngest rich girl,” with three sisters and three brothers. Her football journey began at the age of six, right when she started primary school. At that time, her school only offered football and volleyball, and students often played in the paddy fields or on the Bhur School ground. This limited choice is what first ignited her interest in sports. While she started playing both volleyball and football, it was football that immediately captured her heart. It was the first game she truly connected with, and from the moment she saw it, she knew she had to play. Those early days of training in open spaces, alongside village elders, friends, and her own siblings, became the foundation of Suku’s footballing journey. Those simple community games were where her skills and confidence began to take shape. Today, Suku plays as a full back, but also plays as an attacker and winger, which she chose because of her love for speed and movement. She thrives when running down the flank, carrying the ball at full pace, and creating goal-scoring chances for her team. Her dedication and hard work have earned her 22 international caps for Bhutan. Domestically, she has secured six national titles and represented several clubs, including the BFF Academy, Mandala FC, Sunrise FC, and, most recently, RTC WFC.Catch Suku, one of the talents on the field and off the field, as she cooks her favourite in the first-ever off-season series on our YouTube Channel.

21 October 2025 Decision of the Bhutan Football Federation Disciplinary Committee – Match No. 85 (Transport United FC Vs Royal Thimphu College FC) The Bhutan Football Federation Disciplinary and Ethics Committee (“committee”) convened on 20 October 2025 at the Changjiji Football Academy, Thimphu, to deliberate on the incident reported during Match No. 85 of the BOB Bhutan Premier League 2025 played between Transport United FC and RTC FC on 19 October 2025 at Changlimithang Stadium, Thimphu. Facts of the issue The Competitions Department of Bhutan Football Federation being the secretariat to the committee informed the committee of an incident that merit review with regard to a Disciplinary matter under the purview of the Bhutan Football Federation Disciplinary and Ethics Code 2025 (“code”). As per the Reports submitted to the Competitions Department, the following players are indicated: Kelden Choda (jersey No. 69, Transport United FC), and Jigme Namgyel (Jersey No. 14, RTC FC) Salient feature of the facts as per the Match Incidence Report submitted are as follows: The Committee reviewed the official reports submitted by the Match Referee, Match Commissioner, and Security Officer regarding an incident that occurred during the said match. According to the Official Match Report, an altercation took place at the 45+3 minutes (just before half-time) involving Mr. Kelden Choda (jersey No. 69, Transport United FC) and Mr. Jigme Namgyel (Jersey No. 14, RTC FC). Since both players engaged in manhandling during the challenge, the referee sent off both players by showing red cards for violent conduct.  Subsequently, while the players were leaving the field (due to the red card) and when Mr. Jigme Namgyel was about to reach the touchline, Mr. Kelden Choeda punched Mr. Jigme using force (this is verified through video footage in addition to the official report). Immediately after the punch, Mr. Kelden is seen gesturing middle finger towards the fans in the stadium provoking the spectators leading to aggressive disapproval by the crowd (this is also verified through video footage). Due to this gesture, the spectators also began throwing bottles towards the field of play.    Committee Findings After a detailed review of all submitted reports, available match footage, and statements, the Committee finds that that Mr. Kalden Choda is involved in committing offensive behaviour and violations of the principles of fair play in violation of the basic rules of decent conduct behaving in a way that brings the sport of football into disrepute. Bhutan becomes latest country to benefit from FIFA Foundation’s groundbreaking Digital Education Programme

Bhutanese schoolchildren will benefit from learning essential life skills, supported by computer science and robotics Joint initiative between the Ministry of Education and Skills Development of Bhutan, the Bhutan Football Federation and FIFA Foundation The programme is already underway in Belize, Mauritania and Paraguay  Children in the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan will have greater opportunities to explore innovative ways of learning through hands-on activities using technology, programming, and robotics after it was announced that the FIFA Foundation’s Digital Education Programme will be launched in the country. Via an online ceremony, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Tshewang C Dorji, Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Skills Development of Bhutan; Ugyen Wangchuk, General Secretary of the Bhutan Football Federation; and the FIFA Foundation Executive Chairman, Mauricio Macri. “Football, technology and education are intrinsically connected and being able to harness the global appeal of football to help young people in Bhutan learn important skills that could one day help them pursue a career in this exciting field is a natural partnership for the FIFA Foundation,” said Mr Macri. “As we have already seen in South America, Central America and Africa, the Digital Education Programme not only attracts and motivates students to learn, but it also provides them with the tools and skills to thrive in the future. Today, we are delighted to launch in Asia and look forward to seeing the results over the coming years.” The Digital Education Programme is one of many ways in which the FIFA Foundation uses football to generate a positive social impact through football. Previously launched in Belize, Mauritania and Paraguay, the programme brings football and technology into classrooms, providing teachers with practical tools and hands-on activities to make everyday lessons more engaging and meaningful. Over the next three years, the groundbreaking programme will be rolled out in ever primary school across the country – more than 400 in total – and over 77,000 students will eventually benefit. This will be facilitated by leveraging the country’s existing digital infrastructure and strong national vision for digital education, supported by an investment from the World Football Remission Fund, which is under the auspices of the FIFA Foundation. The investment will focus on supplying robotics kits to all schools, providing teacher training and accompaniment, and supporting the three-year implementation across the country. The aim is to promote digital skills and foster computational thinking, creativity, collaborative work and problem-solving amongst pupils living in a vulnerable context.
