High-Stake Clash at RTC Artificial Turf: RTC FC vs Transport United FC

The 27th match of the BoB Bhutan Premier League 2025 promises fireworks as high-flying RTC FC hosts Transport United FC in a crucial top-of-the-table encounter at RTC Artificial Turf. RTC FC enter the match with tremendous momentum, coming off a record-shattering 10–0 victory over Samtse FC in their last outing. The result not only lifted their goal tally but sent a clear message to the rest of the league. Meanwhile, the Grizzly Bears of Transport United FC have also had a strong season so far, though they are recovering from a narrow defeat to BFF Academy. Both teams are looking to keep their title hopes alive, making this a high-stakes affair. At the top of the table, reigning champions Paro FC are flying high with five wins from five matches, firmly holding on to first place. Thimphu City FC follow closely but saw their unbeaten run come to an end after a shock loss to Tensung FC. The outcome of today’s match between RTC FC and Transport United will put additional pressure on both Paro FC and Thimphu City, as either team could shake up the standings with a win. Looking at the head-to-head record between the two sides, RTC FC holds a slight advantage. Of their last six meetings, RTC FC has won four, drawn one, and lost only once to Transport United FC in the 2023 BPL season and has shared a total of 20 goals, of which RTC FC scored 12. Although history favours the hosts, recent form suggests the clash could go either way. Currently, RTC FC sit in fourth place on the table with three wins, one draw, and one loss. They’ve scored a total of 16 goals, 10 of which came from the Samtse match and conceded just three. Transport United FC, on the other hand, are in third with four wins and a single loss, having netted 12 goals and conceded four. Only two points separate the two sides, raising the stakes further. A win or draw for the visitors will lift them into second place above Thimphu City FC. A victory for the home side, however, would see RTC leapfrog both Thimphu City and Transport United, moving them into second place with a game in hand over Thimphu City. The atmosphere at RTC Artificial Turf is already electric. Sonam Wangmo, a die-hard RTC FC supporter in the stands, shared her excitement: “This is a very crucial match for both teams. I’m confident our boys will grab all three points today.” On the other side, Tek Dbr Rai, a loyal fan of Transport United FC, expressed his belief in the Grizzly Bears’ resurgence: “With a new technical director and head coach, it’s time for us to rewrite the story. The rain and slippery pitch might be a challenge, but I’m still backing my team to win.” As kick-off nears, anticipation builds. With title implications, rivalry history, and fan emotions running high, this is not just another league match. It’s a statement opportunity for both teams. Who will come out on top? The battle for second place and a chance to chase down Paro FC.
